Mission statement
To provide quality
primary dental care to the local community and surrounding
areas, in a caring and comfortable environment.
Philosophy
We make it our goal to make
you feel welcome when you are here.
The primary focus at this office is on preventative dentistry
and patient education. We would like all patients to appreciate
the importance of home care, and hope to reduce the caries
rate of regular patients to as close to zero as possible.
On your first appointment, a comprehensive exam will be done
to assess all of your teeth, including x-rays using state-of-the-art
digital technology, which are less harmful than traditional methods.
A treatment plan is drafted specifically for you, based on our findings
and your input. After treatment is complete, we would then like to
schedule regular visits for cleaning and recall examinations. It is
important for us to see you even when you believe your teeth are
fine, because our equipment and expertise help you maintain good
oral health and eliminate problems before they affect you adversely.
We will be happy to answer your questions about the recommended
treatment, so that you can make an informed decision. We respect
that due to various circumstances, dental work may not be the
highest priority for everyone. Any procedure carried out is always
decided with our mutual consensus.
Insurance
In order to focus
more on patient care and not insurance coverage, we
do not accept payment from insurance companies. We
offer to submit claims electronically on your behalf
where possible, and you will be reimbursed by your
insurance plan. Exceptions are only made in the case
of governmental (welfare) insurance plans which require
assignment. Individuals wishing to use such plans are
required to make sure the proper documentation is
prepared for the date of the appointment.
Fees and Payment
The fees charged
at this office are based on current information provided
by the Ontario Dental Association, and are due upon
completion of procedure. Cash and credit/debit cards
are welcome. We can provide a rough estimate for the cost of
your treatment if needed.
Appointments
Please call to reserve
a time as our regularly scheduled patients have priority over
walk-ins. We will call to remind you of your upcoming appointment
two days in advance, and would like to ask that you call us
within 24 hours if you must cancel. This makes it possible for us
to see other patients who require emergency treatment.
Please note that a fee may be assessed for missed (no-show)
appointments.
Emergency Care
Care of emergency
patients is a priority for us, and we will try our best to see you
as soon as we can. Occasionally it is possible to set aside
additional time beyond the usual office hours. If you believe you
have a problem requiring immediate attention please call us right
away. You may also leave a message on our answering machine and
we will contact you to book an appointment.
Disinfection Standards
You can be assured that
stringent safety standards are in place to protect you from
unnecessary exposure to disease pathogens:
- Autoclave sterilization at 135C of all instruments used
- Chemical disinfection of work surfaces and upholstery
- Items that may not be cleaned using the above methods are
disposed after each patient, including gloves, suction tips, needles, etc.
